Eliesha Grant is a mixed media artist, living and working in NY. Using predominately digital, analog photography and printmaking, Grant draws inspiration from the explicit and mundane. She has the ability to resist cynicism in her (often irreverent) social commentary.

Grant earned her BA in English Literature with an Art minor at Guilford College, NC, 1993. In 2015 she received an AS in Photography and Printmaking from SUNY NCC, and applied to Graduate Programs. In 2019 she received a Masters of Fine Arts in Studio Art, concentration in Photography and Printmaking from Queens College.

She worked full time as a CASAC-T from 2011-2014 Creedmoor ATC and Seafield Services Outpatient Rehab facility . Frustrated with the system, and having little time for her son and making art, Grant bought her first DSLR in 2013, and left her counseling job in 2014 to go back to school.

"Photography saved me from failing out of high school. Back then I could hang out in the darkroom for hours, there was a lot of energy and excitement developing film and prints. I used my film camera only until 2013. Once I started messing with digital, I realized, I needed to learn photography all over again, so I did."

Grant has been co-curating Cheap Art Parties in Brooklyn, LES, East Village, Port Washington, and Hudson, NY since 1995. These events are based on the Bread and Puppet's Cheap Art Manifesto.

Eliesha works in the community doing outreach with The Nicholas Center. She continues doing freelance, curating shows, participating in art projects, exhibits, and community volunteering for projects, like www.PlantaRowforthehungry.org, Transition Town Port Washington, The Science Museum of Long Island and  participating in Governors Island Portal: 2019www.4Heads.org and currently hosting an artist residency named ARTHØLE , a tiny gallery in her home.

She lives in New York with her son, Rorey,  her dog Cookie Wookie & cats Freya, Beanie Baby, and Baldur.
